Kurma Purana

The Kurma Purana is one of the 18 major Puranas. It relates to the 2nd avatar of Lord Vishnu when he appeared as "Kurma",a  Tortorise. It is presented as a direct discourse from Lord Vishnu in his Kurma form to the sage Narada. Kurma refers to the giant tortoise who famously held up a mountain during the churning of the ocean.
